How to get there - SEE Learning Symposium Munich

18 / 09 / 2023

Location: The Schwaneck Castle

Close to the city centre of Munich, the Schwaneck Castle youth hostel is the idyllic location for the SEE Project’s Learning Symposium. The nature experience centre/ youth education centre is located on the outskirts of Pullach, approximately ten km south from Munich. The old listed walls from the 19th century and the quiet location on the high banks of the Isar give the castle its special charm. The walking and cycling paths begin right behind the castle, some of which lead around a hundred metres down to the sandy bank of the Isar, which has been extensively renovated in recent years.

How to get there:

Throughout the course of the SEE Project, project partners have been tracking their CO2 footprints to and from each international meeting. The focal point of this project is sustainability, so we encourage you to also consider your travel options and what is most sustainable. Travelling overland is (generally) the most sustainable means of transport, so we suggest looking into international train journeys and/or travelling with colleagues.

Train: There is a direct line from München Hauptbahnhof to Pullach station (30 minute journey). From Pullach it is a short walk to the Castle (Burg Schwaneck)

Airport: Munich international airport offers many international connections to major European airports. From the airport you can take a 1.5 train trip to Pullach station which is a short walk to the location of the Symposium  (Burg Schwaneck)

Accommodation:

The location of the Symposium - Burg Schwaneck- is fully booked, however as mentioned above, the castle is very well connected to Munich via public transport.
