Technical University Munich (TUM), Germany with its Department of Sport and Health Sciences is an education and research institute which is very well respected in Germany as well as internationally. One of its main research focuses is Sport and Health. Through the focus on sport and health in research and education TUM’s aim is to influence people’s attitude and behaviour to a positive lifestyle. Outdoor sport is seen as an important tool in this.
The department is a specialist in teaching fields that include sports-science, health, teaching profession and professional freelancers in sport. It is also responsible for the education and training of professional ski instructors and mountain guides.
